CRAFT Cultura's Untamed Tongues: Poets Sin Fronteras 2021 is Edinburg Texas' first-ever poetry festival which included live poetry readings, live music, art booths, food & games.
Leading up to this event, we held 4 poetry workshops across the Rio Grande Valley for members of the community to learn about expression through words. We studied the writings of local activist/legend Gloria Anzaldua and had our participants write about their culture & experience within our region and what it means today to be a Latinx individual living between two borders (Mexico border and Texas checkpoint). The emblem I created acts as a compass to represent the four workshops we held in different cities with the CRAFT Cultura logo in the middle.
I helped execute, plan, and organize all graphic assets as well as helped with marketing and event planning. This festival brought poets of all races, gender, and color to shine a light on the art of poetry.
